Discerning Your New Commitment
We ask that every household complete and return the enclosed commitment card, indicating your intention to continue your current level of giving or to increase your offertory support. Your formal commitment will help us budget responsibly for the year ahead.
About this last point, I want to acknowledge the generosity and special efforts of many of our parishioners to support the financial needs of the parish. As a result of last year’s stewardship effort, we didn’t have to completely deplete our savings just to make “monthly ends meet.”
Yes, there are still general maintenance items and staffing concerns that we must address, but we are so appreciative of those who “took the 1st step” last year. Each year now, as we make our annual appeal for good stewardship, I trust that the Holy Spirit will inspire each of us to do the best we can.
That “next step” is different for each of us. For some, it is taking a more active role in one of our many ministries. For others, it may be spending more time in prayer—and reflecting on God’s blessings. For all of us, it is discerning what our grateful response to God’s blessings will be.
I am asking that you “Take the Next Step” and let the Holy Spirit lead you!
